No other culture can claim scriptures as numerous or as ancient as the Hindu culture; none of them can boast of an unbroken tradition as faithfully preserved as the Hindu tradition. The Hindu doctrine is not derived from a single book.
It has many sacred writings serving as a source: the Vedas, Upanishads, the Puranas, the Epics - Ramayana, Mahabharata and the Bhagavad - Gita. Hindus are the most thoughtful people and their literature is characterised by constant concern with humanity's spiritual destiny. |
